A note from owners Jeremy & Lisa

It all began in 2006 when we took a leap of faith, starting with Tufnells at No. 75 High Street Lindfield. Having no retail experience whatsoever, it was a steep learning curve and we often questioned our sanity, but thankfully over the years we have gone from strength to strength and soon established ourselves as a ‘go to’ shop for local customers.

Fast forward seven years and in 2013 we opened our second shop just down the road at 59 - becoming two shops in one village. We wanted to give each shop its own identity and so number 75 became Tufnells Boutique and number 59 became Tufnells Home.

So what do we sell? Anything from handbags to homeware and everything in between. We aim to source non-mainstream products and display them in a visually pleasing way to create a special shopping experience for our customers.

Our shops are constantly changing with exciting daily deliveries. We are very lucky to be assisted by a great team of local ladies who have supported us along the way. We all enjoy the interaction with our customers and over the years many have become friends. We also feel part of the community and village life and we support several local charities in an effort to give something back.

Covid-19 has set us a massive challenge. We’ve always thought that shopping should be about the touch, the feel and the experience of browsing for something lovely, but times have changed suddenly & dramatically and this has nudged us into launching online.
